In an attempt to maintain some control over my time (mostly futile, I admit), I do not use email. But I am borrowing this one to respond to you. It's an unmonitored address, for outgoing mail only, so please do not reply to this address.
It sounds like I may miss you at the Wordstock Festival, and for that I'm sorry. They have filled my brief trip to Portland, and the only possibility would be at the event where I speak, which it sounds like you'll miss. Anyway, I know well the excitement you feel with the publication of your first book. Great work. I like the profile presented in your poem.

Brother Don:
I read your book and once I started, I coudldn't stop reading. On pg 28: The story about Peggy getting pregnant before you get married; I think you should spend a bit more time telling the full story. (about how her dad did not want you to get married and why). There are a lot of kids today that are engaging in this and maybe you could show how this SEEMED like the right choice, but really it was the wrong choice, although in Robby, we know that sometimes God turns our sinful deeds into glorious blessings in His mercy.
I am very proud of my buddy for writting this in the first place. I have known you for 2 of the 3 years it took you to write "Choose Freedom - The Journey" and I feel like in that short time we have had a great "journey" together.

Congratulations on your journey. You have told me about the book and that you were called to write it. What an awesome job God gave you to report on, yet I'm sure that through each re-visit to the past, some healing was given to you from God, or at least additional insight from His perspective. I visited the site for the book, and I look forward to reading the finished product. I'd love to have a copy for the girls to understand later in life what God did for Uncle Don. What an honor.
There are so many that will be touched and reached for God through your life experiences, because of how God saved you. We were just talking last night in group study about how God wants it to be personal, Jesus wants us to tell our story so its personal; (We're studying Mark in my a.m. class, and Galatians in the p.m. group). Dear Brother:
Thanks so much for putting 2 Cor.; chapter 1 into practice. We need to use the help we have found to help others, and we are to encourage one another daily. You have taken a great leap to write this book and make it available to the public. There is no coincidence that I found this web site. My brother, at the age of 29, is currently in jail for the 19th time. He has struggled with not only meth, but with numerous other abuses and addictions throughout his life. He has made a dramatic cry out to God this time, and wants to be set free from this former life he has led in bondage. I will be sure this book makes it into his hands. God is good all the time!!!
